SO happy to be sending this one out!

We printed some hard copies on CD to give out over SXSW & WMC but now its finally time to release this to everyone. Some of the songs on here had been available on our blog before but were removed from Soundcloud, and some of these are previously unreleased anywhere! The wait is over, so without further ado....

This past February marked the 6th anniversary of Jay Dee's passing due to complications stemming from Lupus. Known in Hip-Hop circles as J Dilla, he left the world with a wealth of groundbreaking music having produced classic records for some of Hip-Hop and R&B's most influential artists. That list includes A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, The Roots, Mos Def, Common, The Pharcyde, Ghostface, Raekwon, Janet Jackson, D'Angelo, Erykah Badu and of course his own group Slum Village.

On March 1st some of Vancity's biggest Dilla heads are coming together to celebrate the music and genius that is James "J Dilla" Yancey. Live performances from SonReal & Prison Garde + DJs Hedspin, Flipout, Seko, Rich-A, Niña Mendoza, Bles-sed & Jay Swing. $5 from each ticket going to the J Dilla Foundation. The party is called RAISE IT UP - A J DILLA CELEBRATION and will be headlined by none other than Detroit's Slum Village (T3, Illa J (Jay Dee's brother) & Young RJ)!

When I was on a Canada-wide tour with Keys N Krates last month, I had a lot of long drives to work on tunes. Here’s a Moombahton edit of one of my favorite jams of 2011… I did more than just speed it up though – I chopped it, fr33ked it and redid drums etc – so I guess it’s more of a bootleg remix. Response has been amazing in the club

Winter Music Tour / Fortune Sound Video

Finally wrapped this tour with Keys N Krates. Wild times. Started on the east coast and went to Whistler.. Drove back to Toronto in a 15-seater van, stopping at every goddamn place in Canada. A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came out to party with us and more THANK YOUS to Jagermeister and Red Bull and all the venues for making these parties possible. What an experience.

KNK and I have a proper collective tour 'wrap-up video' coming soon but, for those that didn't make it, here is a taste of what went down. On this tour, I was showcasing my new A/V set (DJ sets with all music videos)... This was one of the best gigs of the whole tour. Shouts to GMAN AND RIZK and the whole fortune sound crue in Vancity.
