Hey Y'all. Another radio show gone by. This week i tried to do something that i havent done in along time - keep it slow in tempo. The entire mix is under 105 bpm, and is basically a hiphop/mashup mix. C'mon give me a break, it had been a while!!
My man Jr-Flo is gonna be teaming up with The Oakland Faders in their hometown for a 4th of July jump off. The Oakland Faders are a dj collective that have been holding it down in the Bay area for a minute. They are well known for their extensive vinyl collections and their ability to incorporate turntablist skills into their party rocking sets. UTFO (Kangol Kid / EMD / Doctor Ice / Mixmaster Ice) was a rap group formed in the early 80's and founded by the R&B band Full Force. They started off as dancers for Whodini and were the first breakdancers to appear on the Phil Donahue show. Most My man Kilo-Cee put me on to the video footage below. Check out the crowd they're performing for!!! Most people are familiar with their track Roxanne Roxanne. I was in grade 2 when this came out. The song that I decided to post is called Bite It. The reason I decided to post this is because of the little snippet at the beginning of the track. It was used as a scratch tool on Babu's Super Duck Breaks record which was released on the Stones Throw label in the late 90's. During the time the super duck record came out I was broke & still practicing in my mom's and dad's basement hoping to one day dj at clubs. I went through about 3 copies of the super ducks. Pretty randumb Eh? I need sleep.
This weekend is gonna be full of some fun parties. Pump and I get to play Shuffle this Friday which is a night that was originally started by Team Canada. It takes place on the last Friday of every month @ Revival in Toronto. The slogan of the night is "You'll never guess". This is one of the fewer larger scale parties in which you can literally get away with anything. Check out some vid footage of DJ Grandtheft and DR One killing it in 2007 to get an idea of what to expect....
Then on Saturday it's off to Banff, Alberta where Jr Flo, Pump & myself will be rockin a Canada Day long weekend party @ Hoodoo lounge.

It's one of my favorite nights to dj at right now because we get to play whatever we want. We play alot Of funk, soul, hip hop, jazz, disco and alot of original tracks that artists today sample. Hey Y'all. I didn't post my last radio show, and judging by the lack of Truth updates on here it seems all the rest of the boys followed suit. Hopefully after this maybe everyone else will post there's up as well. My show this week was all over the map, but had alot of new blends and illo remixes. Shouts out to Cashtro! He blessed the freestyle that starts off the show. I think we'll be seeing alot more of him in the near future.

Last month we finally got the whole family together to have a bro-down for the ages. I may be the worst photographer ever, but you get the just of what went down. Great food, big drinks, and an afterparty at The Bluedog to remember. The good homies Haul & Mason have invited The Eh! Team to come battle them on 4 turntables this weekend in beautiful Santa Monica California. The night is called Quality, and the music appears to be exactly the same. Good hiphop, funk, breaks, and dance music!
