JACKSON 5 - BLAME IT ON THE BOOGIE (JR-FLO BMORE MIX)

STEVLAND JUDKINS

Stevie Wonder is gonna be here in Vancouver tomorrow at GM Place. Unfortunately I won't be here to catch the show. I've seen him perform twice already, first time was in Japan at Osaka Jo Stadium, and the second time was at a vineyard in Seattle. Being a huge fan of Stevie Wonder, I have to say that seeing him live is one of the best shows I have ever been to. My man Pump just saw him for the first time in San Francisco and he said the same thing. That being said, I posted an 8 bar edit of Boogie On Reggae Woman done by myself, a remix of All I Do by my man U-Tern, also a resident of Vancouver. I've been bumping his new Love Lost Mix on Brooklyn Radio alot lately. LISTEN TO IT HERE
Last but not least is a remix of Positivity by Mark Ronson. If you have a chance to see Stevie Wonder in your home town.....DON"T SLEEP.

EH! TEAM DJS X CALGARY STAMPEDE

So the whole team is gonna be in Calgary this weekend for The Calgary Stampede. This is the first time that I'm gonna be out there to experience this event and the festivities that take place are off the chain. My friend Sarah who is out there working for Playstation sent this pic which apparently is a good indication of what to expect when we are out there. To get everyone in Stampede mode I decided to rip one of the very few country records in my collection. This one is by Kenny Rogers off the Kenny album which dropped in 1979. It's called You Turn The Light On. Ill drum breaks throughout the whole song.

YEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAWWWWW!!!!!!!!

DIGITALISM - POGO (FLOWINSKY'S BEEFY EDIT)

I hate airports. So many lineups,,, so much walking and sweating,, take this off,, lift this,, show this. While I'm on this some of you people out there with bad flying etiquette really need to take a class. It's not okay to grab the back of the person's seat in front of you when you are getting up to go to the bathroom. It wakes us up, and it's annoying as shit. Who told you this was okay? WTF! Anyhow, nonstop travelling this whole week for me,, but the song in my ipod that got me through it was this joint by Digitalism, which is by know means new, but since I was (pause) bangin it this weekend I thought I'd post my old beefed up edit of it.

No Sex For Ben ILLO EDIT

Its been a while since i posted an edit that ive done, so here ya go! Because this song hasnt really officially been released yet (its on GTA 4), alot of people are sleeping on it. I think its got really wide appeal for different dancefloors, and i tried to make it even more dancier by speeding it up alot and thickening up the punch to it. The chorus sounds alot better with the 4x4 kick on it, and the intro & outro drums are fun to play with too! Thanks Timbaland!

New Truth Radio Show

Hey Y'all. Another radio show gone by. This week i tried to do something that i havent done in along time - keep it slow in tempo. The entire mix is under 105 bpm, and is basically a hiphop/mashup mix. C'mon give me a break, it had been a while!!

EH! TEAM X OAKLAND FADERS JULY 4

My man Jr-Flo is gonna be teaming up with The Oakland Faders in their hometown for a 4th of July jump off. The Oakland Faders are a dj collective that have been holding it down in the Bay area for a minute. They are well known for their extensive vinyl collections and their ability to incorporate turntablist skills into their party rocking sets. I've posted some website links and a couple of goodies from DJ Platurn for your downloading pleasure:

Untouchable Force Organization

UTFO (Kangol Kid / EMD / Doctor Ice / Mixmaster Ice) was a rap group formed in the early 80's and founded by the R&B band Full Force. They started off as dancers for Whodini and were the first breakdancers to appear on the Phil Donahue show. Most My man Kilo-Cee put me on to the video footage below. Check out the crowd they're performing for!!! Most people are familiar with their track Roxanne Roxanne. I was in grade 2 when this came out. The song that I decided to post is called Bite It. The reason I decided to post this is because of the little snippet at the beginning of the track. It was used as a scratch tool on Babu's Super Duck Breaks record which was released on the Stones Throw label in the late 90's. During the time the super duck record came out I was broke & still practicing in my mom's and dad's basement hoping to one day dj at clubs. I went through about 3 copies of the super ducks. Pretty randumb Eh? I need sleep.

Enjoy!!!!

On The Radar.......

This weekend is gonna be full of some fun parties. Pump and I get to play Shuffle this Friday which is a night that was originally started by Team Canada. It takes place on the last Friday of every month @ Revival in Toronto. The slogan of the night is "You'll never guess". This is one of the fewer larger scale parties in which you can literally get away with anything. Check out some vid footage of DJ Grandtheft and DR One killing it in 2007 to get an idea of what to expect....

Then on Saturday it's off to Banff, Alberta where Jr Flo, Pump & myself will be rockin a Canada Day long weekend party @ Hoodoo lounge.

For those that can't make it....have a great long weekend!!!!!!

Elsewhere Sundays

So I dj at this night with Flipout & Sean Lalla called Elsewhere on Sundays @ Shine Night Club in Gastown, Vancouver. It's one of my favorite nights to dj at right now because we get to play whatever we want. We play alot Of funk, soul, hip hop, jazz, disco and alot of original tracks that artists today sample. Check out the mix that Flipout and Lalla put together to see what I'm talkin about. If you like what you hear than come chill with us on Sundays.
