This week, I moved to Toronto after living in Montréal for 14 amazing years. As most know, Mount Real is an super fun city that is now, more than ever, exporting such amazing music to the world. While I am excited for the inspiration that this change will bring to my music and life, Montréal will always be in my soul and I am proud to have built my career there. Bouge De La is a mix I put together of a lot of my favourite artists/bands in Montréal.
2 years of blood, sweat, and steroids. 2 years of funky meets sexy. 2 years of waxing, tweezing, and chocolate Mai Tai's. It's hard to believe, but on November 26th, Stars & Muscles turns 2 at Local 522.
Come down and jam with these macho men as they give you the goods right where it counts; house, disco, funk, italo, 80's and all kinds of other fun shit - No commercial jams. It's a celebration! We thank you all for supporting the past 2 years of S&M parties... full of touching, feeling, smelling, and then going home with unnatural thoughts when the lights come on.
Gonna be a jam :)
Stars are forever, and Muscles are for fun. B.Y.O.S.***

∞∞ THE HIFI CLUB & Pumperoni present BRAND SPANKING NEW w/ DJ PUMP & a REALLY GOOD GUEST DJ∞∞
This party is going to be REALLY GOOD. This is the 2nd installment of our BRAND SPANKING NEW monthly. Last month we brought DJ CRAZE and the party was amazing. Classic tunes perfectly mixed for an amazing crowd. Our guest this time is going to be a REALLY GOOD treat. He's ventured away from the hip hop scene in recent years and it took a little bit of coaxing from our part but he is absolutely going to murder this party. Seriously one of the most talented DJs in the game, this one will be fresh as F*ck!
This one is for the heads. Donkeys need not apply.
Summer is officially over I know, but guess what? I decided to do another patio party this saturday, as promised. It's a sequel to "Better Late Than Never" Party. If you were there, then you already know what i'm talking about.

This is a double mix CD that I made in 2003 for Timebomb Trading. It features 4 hrs of classic hip hop tracks from the early 90's. All vinyl (no mp3's), tons of scratching and trick mixing and all that good stuff. Some of you might have the OG 2cd package when it first came out - lucky you, i don't even have my own copy anymore... Big up to Gman & Rizk and Timebomb for putting this out. It's only right that I release this again, and now officially on my soundcloud page so go get 'em, they're up for grabs.
PS ~ yes, there was volume 2 that pretty much had everything from 2pac to De la Soul, Hieroglyphics, Dr Dre, DJ Quik and some more G funk artists, etc. I was about 70% done when my Roland VS-880 (8-track recorder) crashed and lost everything. It never saw the light of the day and I just never had the chance to start all over again. So devastating... Anyways, enjoy...

Been a minute since i posted up in here. When i say a minute, i actually mean over a year! Wow! If you know me well, you'll know I'm awful at posting stuff online. Its part, Im not happy with what i have to post and part, I'm actually just a slacker! Either way, i got a treat for once. I did this mix about a year ago and its quite different from the usual chaotic mixes you're used to hearing from me. I'm a huge lover of Uk Garage. Especially stuff from the mid 90's. I wanted to play some of my favorite jams, but keep it live. I did little to no editing on the mix and wanted it to stay fluid. I even used some records on this one! You can tell i had to dust off a few, but they're Gems! Anyways, Here is
So it's been like 3 months (at least) since we've done a party or a mixy. Summer was groovi, and Fall is kinda neat, so here's some tunes for the transition between the two. Feel free to share or re-post. The party is at 522 on the 17th. It's been a minute, so come see us.

Eh! Team super homies Kutcorners & Curtis Santiago released a 7 inch of their awesome 80's RNB inspired single "Diamond" a few months back (you can get it here ) and now the full digital version with remixes is available online everywhere from the fine folks at 11 Inch Records.
Audience (Dj Illo's song writing duo) was fortunate enough to be asked to make a remix alongside some other incredible producers - Waajeed (Platinum Pied Pipers, Bling 47), J Boogie (Dubtronic Science) and others. Im really happy with how the Audience remix came out, a little dancefloor disco jam with lots of change-ups and textures.
My comprades and i decided that it's time to do a proper patio party to end the summer with a bang. You're invited! Bring a friend or two or ten, tell everyone you know, invite errrbody - it's FREE, obviously.
Join me and a gang of fun peeps this saturday for a fun dance partay jammy jam. I will be playing tunes from 8pm to 12am (or until they shut us down).
- Broken City Patio * 613 11 Ave SW
- Saturday, Aug 27th.
- cheap drinks + food
- Pumpichulo on the 1's & 2's + surprise guests
Haven't been crankin out bootlegs nearly as often as I used to.. Here is something special I have been working on for a minute. For y'all: a piano house version of the Weeknd's latest release... Grab it for free over at my Facebook Page
Grandtheft drops two banging bootlegs on Dj Ayres' Label T&A records. "Gangsta Muzik reworks The Diplomts' "Dipset Anthem" in a uk funky/b-more-inspired framework with big kicks, marching drums, a wobbly bassline, and chopped up vocals creating a strictly-for-the-club heater. "Splash" is a house remix of Ludacris' "Splash Waterfalls," with smoothly bumping drums, funky chops, and the best parts of the original left intact. Definitely useful stuff to have in your crates if you're a working dj!
- May 28th. We're back. I thought you knew? - We hope we see you - We hope you see us - We have history. It gets sticky. - Wipe me down, Fox. - Might go blonde. - Funki, funkee, funky. - PLUR - Some people think I eat too many chocolate bars - We need a nurse. - Don't be weird about it. - Another day, another donut - C'mon babe, we didn't mean it like that. - Let's do it again.
As usual, we did a mixy. This one is for when you're getting ready to go out, and the sun is just going down.
1. Dr Hook - Sexy Eyes 2. Roysopp - Eple (Fatboy Slim rmx) 3. Joey Negro (but he's white) - Why? (JN Block Party mix) 4. In Flagranti - Anglo-Saxon Pragmatism 5. Vitalic - Allan Dellon 6. Solomun - Love Recycled 2 7. Eddie C - Deepa 8. James Curd - Left The Ground 9. Richard Richard - Garbure 10. Grandtheft - Let Me Out (Eli Escobar rmx) 11. Consistent - Higher Feel 12. Black Moon is synonamous with the term Hip-Hop classic. Their debut album Enta Da Stage took the Hip-Hop world by storm and their singles "Who Got Da Props?", "How Many MCs", "Buck Em Down" and "I Got Cha Opin (Remix)" propelled the album to legendary status. Representing the Boot Camp Click and Duckdown Records, Buckshot and DJ Evil D helped define the New York sound of '90's Hip-Hop and spawned the super group Boot Camp Click that includes Smif N Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, and O.G.C. May 18th at Bar None is Black Moon's FIRST Vancouver performance. Do not miss this one. DUCK DOWN!
The Eh! Team DJS - Pump, Hedspin, Illo & Drastik - have made a name for themselves in "The Truth North" as DJs who own deep crates, but can also cold rock a party. This release of recent remixes and edits shows their affinity for both, while keeping the overall feel of the EP funky and soulful. More "cut and paste" style then full on production, these edits are fun and simple, and are clearly designed for the dancefloor. Tasteful remakes of classics from The Jackson 5, Sly Stone, Michael Wycoff and Chuck Brown will certainly be a favorite amongst most at first listen, but hip-hop remakes from Big Boi and Erick Sermon can hold their own as well. Sit back, crack a Labatts, and watch the party start to take off!
The homies from Livestock are havin a sale! If you're in Vancouver, you should definitely go check it out. It's mainly GUY stuff, but there'll be some shoes for girls (KEEP)
The S.T.U.D.S. are back and once again they mean business, as usual. Coming up on May 7th is another installment of our special dance party that we all love. We like to do this. You like to do this - so let's fuckin' do this.
* Stars & Muscles 11 *

Vancouver, B.C. -When Jheric Hizon, a member of the local Bboy crew Now or Never found out that New York's DJ Kool Herc was hospitalized and in need of some financial assistance to pay his medical bills, he immediately contacted some fellow hip-hop heads to host a fundraiser.
The Big Payback fundraiser (named after a classic track by EPMD, a duo also considered among the pioneers of hip hop) will be held at W2 Storyeum, 151 W. Cordova St, in Vancouver, B.C., on April 10, 2011.This will be an all-ages event from 2-7 p.m. that will feature all the elements of hip hop: Bboying/Bgirling, MCing, DJing and graf writing. A $10 minimum donation will be collected at the door, with all proceeds set to be donated to the Kool Herc Fund. More info on the fund can be found at www.djkoolherc.com
Thankfully, Kool Herc is out of the hospital. However, Hizon says “the Vancouver hip hop community would still like to pay tribute to Kool Herc and the other hip-hop pioneers that paved the way for what we do today.” And although The Big Payback was inspired by Kool Herc's unfortunate situation, organizers say should the need to raise funds for another pioneer occur again, this might not be the last you see of The Big Payback! That's how much the local community recognizes how indebted they are to their East Coast forebears.
If you are interested in volunteering, donating, becoming a sponsor and/or would like more information, possibly to conduct an interview, please visit http://tinyurl.com/thebigpayback or contact one of the media contacts below.

In case you didn't know, Dj Illo and Drastik are part of another crew called The Stylusts w/ the homie Tom Wrecks from Toronto. This Chris Brown or should I say Busta Rhymes, Diplo and Afrojack tune has been making people lose their shit on dancefloors all over the continent and Drastik and Tom Wrecks just put together a new uptempo version with beefier drums for everyone to wiggle and jiggle their asses to.
Our homie Prince Klassen made a Chris Brown Edit Pack a couple months ago with a Chris Brownless version included in there. Go check out his blog for more goodies.
Vancouver peeps: Do not miss this show. It's a free event after all, lucky you!
